imager.phpLisa Brown, born of Jamaican and Cuban descent, possesses so much charismatic flare it is safe to say her cultural influences are ever present in her cooking style. Her secret ingredient “Love” can be found in every bite of her authentic Soul Food dishes. After arriving in Canada, Lisa spent her childhood and teenage years in the French Canadian city of Montréal in a diverse community mixed with French, Italian, Jewish and Caribbean cultures. Lisa’s passion for food began at an early age. As a child she used to watch in admiration as her mother prepared large meals for family gatherings. She learned various skills from her mother as well as from the nannies who used to cook and care for her and her siblings. Armed with the knowledge from these women, Lisa’s evolution to the food world was a natural transition. Having overcome her own struggles, including two brain surgeries and financial hardships, Lisa believes that her purpose in life is to help others. She routinely feeds the homeless and drug addicted in Vancouver’s downtown lower Eastside Red Light District where a local resident “Chain Man” named her the “Queen Cuisine” for the gourmet meals she serves them year round. Lisa believes everyone is equal and for this reason she refuses to feed anyone leftover foods. The residents of the downtown eastside enjoy the same freshly cooked food that would be served to Lisa’s growing list of celebrity clientele. Lisa has worked with some of today’s biggest stars, including: the late James Brown, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Beenie Man, and Ashanti, to name a few. She is a natural cook with a love for the simple things in life and has successfully attained one of her dreams, appearing on her favorite channel, The Food Network. “The Queen Cuisine” will bring the house down.

Professional Chef Lisa Brown brings her Jamaican flare to each of her dishes using her secret ingredient, “love”. She has made numerous appearances on television stations across Canada on a variety of cooking shows. She has catered for such celebrity artists including Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, the Game, 50 Cent and many others. Chef Lisa is also a great contributor to the community donating her time and cooking skills to local charities. Come by Chez Lisa’s restaurant and let her cook something up for you that you’ll never forget.
